My goal as a healthcare provider is to assist patients in the recovery and maintenance of their physical health.  Care is provided for the acute issues (such as an immediate injury from perhaps bending or lifting incorrectly) and for chronic aches and pains (such as those who may have headaches or age related ailments such as arthritis).  Chiropractic care is for students, homemakers, office workers, professionals, laborers, casual and competitive athletes, seniors and retirees.

It is my belief that chiropractic care combined with knowledge can benefit most people, including children and seniors.  Emphasis is placed on helping you to understand the aspects that are contributing to your particular problem.  Suggestions are provided to help you recover and manage your individual circumstances to reduce the probability of recurrence.  Patient information is interactive and discussed in a manner that is suitable to the needs of the particular patient.

Because of the diversity of healthcare in general and chiropractic specifically; the information on this website is intended to be only an introduction to chiropractic healthcare as offered by this office.  If you are in need of more specific information, please contact the office either by telephone or email and I will address your inquiries personally.

APPOINTMENT INFORMATION

Pre-booking appointments is appreciated as it allows for proper allocation of required time slots as New Patients and Reevaluations require a longer booking time.  Walk-ins are welcome, however pre-scheduled appointments are given priority.

An initial visit (new patient) begins with the completion of the appropriate paperwork (regular patient or MVC etc.).  The visit then also consists of a health history, an examination, an explanation/questions for completion of informed consent and treatment.  Referral for x-rays will be made if necessary as determined by the history and examination of this session.  Depending on the complexity of the condition(s) the duration of the initial session typically ranges between 30 and 60 minutes.  Subsequent (follow-up) sessions require less time and are usually 15 to 30 minutes.

The frequency and number of visits is determined by various factors such as the type of condition, the severity of the condition, the age and body habitus of the patient and other general health factors of the patient.  Recommendations are suggested my me, the chiropractor; but ultimately the decision as to the amount and type of care is directed by you, the patient.  The patient is informed about their condition and decides what type of treatment to pursue.  Patients are not obligated or contracted into chiropractic treatment at this office.  Patients understand that healing is a process that happens over time and not an instant event.  Similar to other biological or physiological changes, it requires time and persistence to make lasting improvements (similar to healing a cut, learning a new skill, losing weight and/or achieving the fitness level to run long distance).  Many patients choose to continue with chiropractic care to help maintain improvement and minimize relapses, not unlike regular dental check-ups.  The decision of how long a patient chooses to benefit from chiropractic care at this office is always up to the patient.

Appointments can be made by either calling 780.466.4766 (please leave a voice mail as I may be with a patient) or by emailing Dr.Jiry@gmail.com.  Calls and emails will be returned at appropriate times.

REGUL AR   VISITS,   (Initial  and/or  Follow-up  visits):    Alberta Health and Wellness (AHW) no longer subsidizes chiropractic in Alberta as of July 01, 2009.  Patients are billed directly the cost of the visit; either as an initial visit or subsequent (follow-up) visit as appropriate.  Persons 65 years and older may be entitled to a rebate by applying to Alberta Blue Cross.  Please contact the office for further details; 780.466.4766 or Dr.Jiry@gmail.com  (Please note that payment is due at the time services are rendered.)

BENEFIT   PL ANS:    Patients may have coverage through either a work benefit package or extended healthcare plan.  Various companies provide different plans and varying amounts of coverage.  It is recommended that patients consult their own provider to determine the details of their individual plan.  As a result of such diversity, benefit plans are NOT direct billed to the provider (insurance company).  Payment is to be made by the patient at the time service is rendered.  A receipt (or summary of multiple receipts) will be provided, which can then can be submitted for reimbursement.

MOTOR   VEHICLE  COLLISIONS:    Patients involved in MVCs and who have vehicle insurance issued in Alberta, are covered by the appropriate vehicle insurance company.  Insurance companies are billed directly, provided that the patient has:  A) presented to a chiropractor, medical doctor or physio-therapist within 10 days of the collision date and  B) has made contact with their own insurance company.
